Connect Your Gaming, Mobile, or Other Internet Device to the ResNet Network

Gaming Devices

  1. Connect to the network
In your residence hall room, either plug into the port in your room using an Ethernet cable or connect to the "ResNet-Alt" wireless network.
  2. SafeConnect Scanning
At this point, SafeConnect will detect the device you have and connect you to the network. Simply log into Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network, or the appropriate gaming service to get online. You should not need to run a connection test, even if prompted to do so by your gaming system. Just connect to the appropriate gaming service.
Please note that Nintendo Wii and DS consoles are not supported on the ResNet wireless network.

Mobile and Other Devices

  1. Connect to the network
In your residence hall room connect to one of the "ResNet" wireless networks.
    • The "ResNet" wifi network is encrypted (WPA2 encryption) so you will need to accept the certificate from NAU's server and login with the following information:
      • Username: your user ID (i.e. abc234)
      • Password: your normal NAU password
    • Try connecting to "ResNet-Alt" if you have any trouble with the "ResNet" network.

  2. SafeConnect Scanning
At this point, SafeConnect will scan and detect the device you have and connect you to the network. If you are on a mobile device, you will be prompted to sign in, so open your mobile device's internet browser and log in with your NAU user ID and password.
