Title IX

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

Northern Arizona University prohibits discrimination based on sex or gender in any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. Sex discrimination includes sexual harassment, sexual assault, relationship violence and stalking.

The Title IX Coordinator has overall responsibility for Title IX compliance, including training, education, and administration of grievance procedures. The Equity and Access Office handles complaints of discrimination and sexual harassment against any university employee or visitor. The office also oversees the Safe Working and Learning Environment Policy (SWALE). The Office of Student Life handles complaints against students for sexual assault and other matters covered by the Student Code of Conduct.
