Our lives continually face many multifaceted issues resulting from scientific and technological advances that have been increasingly influencing our world. The lives of our students, the future of our country, and indeed the future of our planet depend heavily upon our ability to deal effectively with these issues. To do so, we must develop a sound understanding of the disciplines that are commonly abbreviated as STEM and use that understanding to make wise choices and decisions.

Teachers play the most essential role in helping students develop appropriate understanding and ability. Yet, there continues to be a critical shortage of effective science and mathematics teachers. At the CSTL, we are committed to recruiting and graduating the best possible new science and mathematics teachers, supporting and developing the capacity of practicing teachers, and continually examining our efforts and impact through research and evaluation.

Our mission is to have a deep and lasting impact on science education and educators in Arizona and beyond through innovative STEM partnerships, programs, services and scholarship.

We invite you to explore our programs and efforts to see how you can benefit from them and how you can partner with us to enhance our impact on STEM education.
