Camp Information

Who: Kindergarten through eighth grade
Schedule: Full or Half-day
Term: Weekly or 5-week Sessions
Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Groups are established by grade level, and have a counselor-to-camper ratio of 1:10.

Please Note

  • We do not offer daily rates or pro-rating for any camp
  • We do not provide discounts for multiple children attending
  • Weekly enrollment is subject to available program space
  • No refunds for any camp order

Mountain Jacks Kids Camp

MJ Logo

The Mountain Jacks Kids Camp is open to all youth in Kindergarten through fifth Grade (we no longer offer camp for Pre-K children). The morning portion of the camp is dry-land, activity and educational-based, while the afternoon portion of the camp is aquatic-based. Activities and Excursions include:

  • Out of Africa
  • Arizona Game and Fish
  • Lowell Observatory
  • Starlite Lanes
  • Flagstaff Police and Fire Department
  • The Humane Society
  • NAU Arts and Academics
  • National Parks Service

Explorer's Camp

Explorer's Camp

The Explorer's Camp is open to all youth in sixth-eighth grade, and is limited to 30 campers each week. The Explorer's Camp venture around Northern Arizona University's campus, Flagstaff and surrounding areas through experiential education. Camp leaders and Professional Staff members provide leadership and skill development for all Explorers in a fun and engaging atmosphere. 

Explorer Activities

All activities are subject to change based on a variety of reasons, but past activities have included:

  • American Red Cross CPR/AED 
  • NAU Outdoors Challenge Course
  • Outdoor Survival Skills
  • Leave No Trave Outdoor Principles
  • Bike Maintenance
  • Volunteer at a local animal shelter
  • Visit to Out of Africa
  • Day trips to: Red Rock Country, West Fork at Oak Creek Canyon, Sunset Crater, Meteor Crater, Red Canyon

Registration

Beginning March 2, all NAU students, faculty/staff, and community members will be able to register using our online form! Priority is given to NAU students until May 4.

Financial Aid Available

Click on the Registration and Forms section for more information! Session I begins June 1 through July 2, and Session II from July 6 through Aug. 7.
