Field Trip

Overview

We will visit three locations:

  • Cottonwood, Arizona Wastewater Treatment Plant
  • Yavapai College Vineyards, Clarkdale, Arizona
  • Lunch venue: Town of Clarkdale. Lunch talk by Mayor Doug von Gausig.
The field trip will start at the City of Cottonwood Wastewater Treatment Plant. The trip route has three stops, all of which are in the Cottonwood / Clarkdale area. Maps are provided below.
We will not be providing transportation. Participants are responsible for traveling to each of the three stops on the route. There will be ample parking at each location and they are all within a few miles of each other.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Let us know if you have diet requirements on the field trip registration page.
Water and electrolyte drinks will be provided. Dress for warm weather. We can expect temperatures in the 90s. Although we will travel by vehicle and park near our destinations, there will be some outdoor walking to visit locations. Be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and comfortable shoes.

After the field trip

After a visit to a vineyard, you may be interested in taking advantage of some of the products of Verde Valley vineyards. There are a number of options available. If any participants are interested, we can re-convene after the field trip at Page Springs Cellars. An alternative with higher impact in terms of entertainment is the Tilted Earth festival, an all day event held in Cottonwood on the same day as our field trip.
