How to request a policy exception
To request a policy exception from the
Academic Standards Committee (ASC), you should follow these
procedures:
Review the
information about which policy exceptions are handled by the ASC.
If the policy in question is not adjudicated through another
channel, then e-mail
AcademicStandards@nau.edu,
and clearly state the policy for which you are requesting an exception.
Briefly
explain any extenuating circumstances that prevented you from
following normal university policy, such as illness or family death.
You need to attach official documentation.
You must
meet the deadlines for submission.
You are
notified of the ASC’s decision via e-mail approximately 12
business days after the submission deadline.
