POLICY PROPOSALS

Academic Standards Committee Processes for Policy Proposals

Any faculty or staff members are welcome to submit proposed changes to existing policies or new policies as long as they do research required to complete the template.  Once submitted, a proposal will go through the following steps:
  • Policy proposals are submitted to AcademicStandards@nau.edu in required format and reviewed by the Administrative Liaison
  • The proposal is placed on ASC agenda and sent to committee members one week prior to next meeting
  • ASC votes whether to move the proposal forward for vetting
  • ASC members vet the proposal among constituents
  • ASC votes on the proposal on behalf of their constituents
  • The proposal is presented to appropriate executive offices
  • The outcome of all proposal submissions are included in the ASC's Annual Report to the Faculty Senate
