What do you enjoy most about working with NAU undergrads?
Everyone looks at life differently and has something to offer that no one else can.  I especially enjoy seeing life through the eyes of our NAU students which helps shape my vision as well.

What is your favorite place on campus?
As a student, my favorite place on campus was definitely the North Quad as its beauty is unmatched on campus.  Years later as an employee, I’d have to say that this hasn’t changed as its peace and serenity is unrivaled at NAU.

Why should students take advantage of the Student Success Coaching program?
I honestly cannot think of one good reason why a student should not take advantage of the SSC Program!  There was a tremendous amount of thought and expertise that has been engaged into this program and I see a lot of upside and minimal cost of time and effort.

Student Success Coach 4 Significance
While we may be able to “define ourselves” right now, tomorrow will be an improvement as our experiences today will enhance our very being with these additional life experiences.  Leo Buscaglia once wrote, “I believe that you control your destiny, that you can be what you want to be.”  I not only agree with this, but have strived to live it.  Whether it’s recognizing one’s limitations and increasing our potential, or helping others to expand their world, we live in a wonderful time and age where our personal growth and understanding potential is unmatched.

My personal daily goals include learning from today’s experiences and sharing them with others as best I can.  That said, I would therefore define myself as ever changing, ever growing, ever learning, and ever sharing. Therefore, "How may I serve you?"

What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever been given?
I used to think that an education provided us with a database of answers to life’s questions.  What I learned however is that an education provides us with the ability to teach ourselves how to solve problems we don’t already know how to solve.  Therefore never stop learning and always remember that sometimes the simplest of situations can teach us the most important aspects of our careers.
