Welcome to the Lumberjack family!

Academic Transition Programs aims to help first-year students successfully transition into Northern Arizona University’s academic community. We provide students with the necessary tools to develop realistic academic and personal goals, locate helpful student resources on campus and create an overall successful and memorable college experience. Our purpose is to help you exceed your own expectations as a Lumberjack!

We will work together to achieve this goal by easing your transition from high school to college and by helping you make positive connections to faculty, staff, and your peers at NAU. NAU offers comprehensive first-year programming which is developed in a collaborative effort between the university and students and facilitated through coursework, activities, and services.

Academic Transition Programs offers the following:
NAU 100: Transition to College
NAU 120: Study Skills and College Success
NAU 130: Back on Track
ATP courses utilize Peer Leaders who provide individualized support and connect first-year students to activities and resources focusing on student success. •ATP courses are designed to help students transition to the university by informing students about college life, offering assistance during academic hardships, and working diligently to help students achieve academic success and ultimately graduation.
