Summer Leader

Summer Leaders live and work in an NAU residence hall with the high school aged participants who attend the program.  Summer Leaders work in a role similar to Residential Assistants; creating community in the residence hall and providing fun and educational programming activities for all of The Academy students who are participating in one of the three programs described above.  The employment dates for summer 2015 are May 30- June 27.  Room, meal-plan and a $1,550 stipend are provided.  The first day to report to meet the entire residential team is during spring semester on Friday, April 17th, 2015.   The Application Deadline is February 13, 2015 by 5:00 p.m.  Submit applications and signed background investigation forms, via e-mail to The.Academy@nau.edu If you have questions call Laurie Balenquah at 928-523-1351.

Team Leader: Summer Position

Two Team Leaders are in charge of planning and facilitating the programming activities for the participants of The Academy.  The Team Leaders work with the Academy Residential Director (ARD) to supervise the Summer Leaders (SLs).  Team Leaders are also in charge of student conduct meetings and other tasks as outlined in the job description. The employment dates for summer 2015 are May 30- June 27.  The first day to report to meet the entire residential team is during spring semester on Friday, April 17th, 2015.    They live in the residence hall and receive a meal plan and a $2,150 stipend.  The Application Deadline is February 13, 2015 by 5:00 p.m. Submit applications and signed background investigation forms, via e-mail to The.Academy@nau.edu  If you have questions call Laurie Balenquah at 928-523-1351.

Desk Assistants

The Desk Assistants (DA’s) serve as clerks for The Academy.  They answer The Academy desk telephone and receive and deliver messages.  There are four Desk Assist shifts with varying degrees of interaction with other Academy personnel and participants. DAs may enroll in classes or be employed in another job provided their Academy Desk Assistant responsibility is the primary focus during working hours and their hours worked at Northern Arizona University are not in excess of 80 hours per pay period.  Desk Assistants live outside the residence hall and therefore are not provided meals.  Desk Assistant plays a very important role in The Academy team. The employment dates for summer 2015 are May 30- June 27.  The first day to report to meet the entire residential team is during spring semester on Friday, April 17th, 2015.
