Order of Omega

The Alpha Kappa chapter of Order of Omega is a national Greek honor society that was founded at NAU on March 5, 1976. We recognize outstanding academic achievement and encourage a high standard of leadership in:

  • Inter-fraternity activities
  • Scholarship
  • Greek endeavors

Membership is based upon:

  • Academics
  • Service to the community
  • Leadership within the chapter of membership and Greek community
  • Participation in university activities, clubs, and organizations

You must have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours and have a cumulative grade point average of a 3.0 or higher. Order of Omega is advised by the Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life. 

Purpose

Order of Omega's purpose is:

To recognize those fraternity and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in interfraternity activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment;

To unite outstanding fraternity men and women to create an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate fraternity affairs;
To bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution's fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness;
To help create an atmosphere where ideas and issues can be discussed openly across Greek lines and to help work out solutions
