Northern Arizona Regional Gerontology Institute
Overview
The mission of the NARGI is to value and promote:
- service programs which utilize seniors as assets
to their communities
- lifelong learning opportunities for seniors
- gerontology education through internships
- graduate assistantships and research
- public education through academically-based conferences
and workshops on aging partnerships to maximize staff and funding resources
Duties
The NARGI works with the elderly, but their internship
program offers students a variety of possibilities, including, but not limited
to:
- developing cooperative and collaborative partnerships
with other organizations
- educational programming for seniors
- developing activities
- special events planning
- report writing
However, NARGI prefers to meet with students to determine
what the student wants to learn and develop internships to help meet the
student’s needs.
