Northern Arizona Regional Gerontology Institute

The mission of the NARGI is to value and promote:

  • service programs which utilize seniors as assets to their communities
  • lifelong learning opportunities for seniors
  • gerontology education through internships
  • graduate assistantships and research
  • public education through academically-based conferences and workshops on aging partnerships to maximize staff and funding resources

The NARGI works with the elderly, but their internship program offers students a variety of possibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • developing cooperative and collaborative partnerships with other organizations
  • educational programming for seniors
  • developing activities
  • special events planning
  • report writing

However, NARGI prefers to meet with students to determine what the student wants to learn and develop internships to help meet the student’s needs.
