Goodwill Industries of Northern Arizona
Overview
Goodwill Industries Northern Arizona is a member in good standing with Goodwill
Industries International and one of over 182 separate and autonomous Goodwill’s
that comprise the largest not-for-profit provider of rehabilitation and
re-cycling services in the world. Goodwill is also accredited by the
Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
Since 1963, Goodwill Industries Northern Arizona has been a
leading provider of

- emergency assistance
With “GoodNeighbor Centers” located in Flagstaff, Sedona,
Cottonwood and Winslow we provide services throughout Northern Arizona designed
to help those we serve become independent, tax-paying citizens.
Goodwill’s mission is simple: “We turn donations into good jobs, good homes,
and good neighborhoods.” We do this through the following array of
services:
JobsPlus provides hands-on long-term supported employment to
individuals with severe disabilities. We assist individuals with disabilities
to prepare for, secure, and maintain jobs for which they are interested in and
are qualified for. Through regular job support with the individual,
family members, and employer we assist these individuals in becoming and
remaining productive, tax-paying citizens.
Goodwill Works is an employee development training program
that assists individuals with disabilities wishing to work for the first time
or return to work after being away from the job market develop the knowledge,
skills, and work behaviors necessary to seek, secure, and maintain
employment.
One Stop Career Resource Center provides, under one roof,
Adult Basic Education including General Equivalent Education (GED) preparation,
financial assistance in paying for the GED examination, assistance in applying
for college financial aid, and English as Second Language classes. We also
assist individuals with barriers to employment by helping them:
- determine career goals
- learn how to complete applications and resumes
- prepare for interviews
- conduct a job search
GoodSamaritan Connection provides immediate family emergency
assistance through access to:
- showers
- toiletry items
- essential clothing
- household goods
GoodNeighbor Connection links customers to vital resources
at Goodwill and/or with community partners. Anyone walking in the door is
eligible for this service.
Duties
As an intern, students have the opportunity to work in any
of the above programs and services and, in addition, have the opportunity to
work in other areas of the organizations such as:
- marketing
- public relations
- business operations
- website design
