COPE Community Services
Overview
COPE collaborates with organizational, neighborhood, government, and
stakeholder groups to create sustainable solutions to community problems. For
example, COPE:
- works with the Meth Free Alliance to help stop
the use of methamphetamine
- hosts the annual Arizona Women's Conference, an
event that inspires and educates the community on issues important to the
wellness of women
- offers HIV/AIDS testing
- conducts street educational outreach to high
risk populations
- maintains a drop-in center providing referrals
and educational and support activities
- develops affordable housing, job readiness, and
employment training solutions for disadvantaged populations
Duties
You would be expected to:
- engage in social conversations with clients
based on clients’ interests
- facilitate recreational games and activities
- plan and attend community outings with clients
- assist clients with activities of daily living,
such as cleaning, hygiene, cooking, and other activities related to the
client’s treatment plan
- assist staff with planning and implementing
onsite activities such as barbeques, holiday celebrations, and picnics
- perform clerical tasks such as answering phones
and running errands
