COPE Community Services  

Overview

COPE collaborates with organizational, neighborhood, government, and stakeholder groups to create sustainable solutions to community problems. For example, COPE:

• works with the Meth Free Alliance to help stop the use of methamphetamine
• hosts the annual Arizona Women's Conference, an event that inspires and educates the community on issues important to the wellness of women
• offers HIV/AIDS testing
• conducts street educational outreach to high risk populations
• maintains a drop-in center providing referrals and educational and support activities
• develops affordable housing, job readiness, and employment training solutions for disadvantaged populations

Duties

You would be expected to:

• engage in social conversations with clients based on clients’ interests
• facilitate recreational games and activities
• plan and attend community outings with clients
• assist clients with activities of daily living, such as cleaning, hygiene, cooking, and other activities related to the client’s treatment plan
• assist staff with planning and implementing onsite activities such as barbeques, holiday celebrations, and picnics
• perform clerical tasks such as answering phones and running errands
