Special Education Learning Experiences for Competency in Teaching (SELECT)  

SELECT is a federally-funded program sponsored by the Arizona Department of Education.

SELECT courses provide training to persons seeking to expand their skills in working with children with disabilities and are recommended for general and special education teachers, administrators, related service personnel, and para-educators.

SELECT classes can be taken for university credit by those teachers or administrators who are required by their school districts to have official transcripts and for those who may need to transfer hours out of state. The classes can also be taken for professional growth contact hours for free.

Professional Growth students - The deadline to register for classes beginning June 3rd (for Professional Growth) has been extended to Wednesday, May 22nd by 5pm. 

Professional Growth students can now register online for SELECT courses! Please refer to the "Professional Growth" enrollment section below.

SELECT courses may not apply to a degree program without prior written approval from your academic advisor. In general, only one or two SELECT classes can be used as elective requirements for a degree program at NAU.

Course Evaluation

NAU students taking a SELECT class for academic credit can access the course evaluation online through Blackboard Learn at the end of the course.
