Living Compassion Conference: Compassion in a Competitive World
March 27, 2015 (8:30 am - 3:00 pm; registration begins at 8:00 AM)
This one day conference provides NAU faculty, students, staff, and community members to learn about compassion-inspired work taking place in the NAU and Flagstaff communities. The event will be held in the DuBois ballroom on South Campus. The opening session begins at 8:30 am. Our speakers will be examining the importance of compassion in real-world issues, the role of fear in undermining compassion, the role of mindfulness in cultivating compassion, and how these issues are relevant to important areas of our lives, including the legal system and athletics. More details will be made available in coming months. There is no registration fee. In addition to lunch, refreshments will be available all day! Student volunteers will assist students in completing sign up sheets if receiving credit for attendance.
If you or your agency or group is interested in participating in our mid-day (11:30-12:30 pm) poster session, please see the submission instructions.
Parking is allowed in Lot P62 with a permit, and lot P45 with a permit. Parking may cost about $5 for an all day pass--but the conference costs nothing! This includes all presentations, workshops, lunch and refreshments! View instructions about parking.
