Living Compassion Conference
March 28, 2014 (9:10 am - 4:00 pm)
This one day conference provides NAU faculty, students, staff, and community members to learn about compassion-inspired work taking place in the NAU and Flagstaff communities. The event will be held in the DuBois ballroom. The opening session begins at 9:10 am (Compassion & Community: Partners and Providers). The second session begins at 10:20 am (Empathy and Education: The Head and the Heart). At 11:30 there will be a third session (poster session) and a buffet lunch for all who would like to attend. At 12:40, session 4 begins and will feature a presentation "Beyond an Eye for an Eye: Navajo Peacemaking and Restorative Justice" by Robert Redsteer, Navajo Peacebuilder & Warren Sanford, Justice of the Peace Protem. At 1:50 pm a fifth session begins (Compassionate Care: Health Care Perspectives), and at 3:00 pm there will be several hands-on workshops that provide an opportunity to learn specific skills, such as compassionate communication to improve relationships, mindfulness meditation, increasing positivity and self-compassion in one's life, and more!
In addition to lunch, refreshments will be available all day! Student volunteers will assist students in completing sign up sheets if receiving credit for attendance.

Parking is allowed in Lot P62 with a permit, and lot P45 with a permit. Parking may cost about $5 for an all day pass--but the conference costs nothing! This includes all presentations, workshops, lunch and refreshments! View instructions about parking.
