Why I chose NAU: Since the moment I stepped on campus, I felt extremely welcomed at NAU and that this was going to be a place I could call home. Everyone is so kind and helpful that I know this is the place I can grow as a professional, and hopefully make a lasting impact. I also completely love the outdoors, and am looking forward to no longer living in a flat state!

Roseberry Resident Assistants

2016 - North District - Miranda Mills

Name: Miranda Mills
Floor: 2
Year: Senior
Major: Speech Science and Technology
Hometown: San Diego, CA
Why I chose NAU: I chose NAU because I wanted a change of scenery from San Diego and Flagstaff really appealed to me. After taking a tour I knew I would love going to school in a small mountain town and hearing about the academics and extra curriculars was the cherry on top to NAU for me.
Why I’m excited to be an RA: I lived on campus for 2 and a half years before being hired as an RA and through that experience I have made the best friends, learned about myself and it has truly shaped my experience at NAU. I applied to be an RA and am excited to be working for Housing and Residence Life so I can help others have an amazing experience while living in a residence hall on campus and to help their time here at NAU be as enjoyable as my time has been.

2016 - North District - Danielle Vickers

Name: Danielle Vickers

Year: Junior
Major: Mathematics and Secondary Education with minors in Statistics and Actuarial Sciences
Hometown: Chandler, AZ
Why I chose NAU: I chose NAU because I love being outside and it is close to home, yet an entire change of scenery. I find the campus beautiful and Flagstaff an amazing place to call home during the school year.
Why I’m excited to be an RA: I'm looking forward to being someone who can give residents the support they need while fostering a friendly, welcoming, and safe dynamic within the hall. I love meeting new people and I hope I can help make the experience of living on campus wonderful for my residents.

2016 - North District - Juan Jose

Name: Juan Jose Acevedo
Year: Senior
Major: Finance and Spanish
Hometown: Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
Why I chose NAU: The reason I chose NAU in the beginning was because they gave me a great scholarship. After I came to visit NAU during spring break I found that I fell in love with the city and I loved the climate. I also wanted to be more independent and I figured that going to any school down in Phoenix would never give me that opportunity because if I had any problem my parents would always be there while here in Flagstaff I had to learn how to make it on my own.
Why I’m excited to be an RA: I am excited to be an RA because I get to interact with students from all different cultures and I get to share my culture as well. It is easy to feel alone on campus and I want to do my small part to make sure that everyone feels included and important. Being an RA has allowed me to do this and I am excited to see where this year takes me!!
