Name: Monica Gallegos

Year & Major: Junior - Chemistry
Hometown & High School: Desert Hot Springs, CA - Desert Hot Springs High School

Why I chose NAU: I chose NAU because I wanted an to attend a college out of state, but I didn't want to be too far from home. I also chose NAU because it is not too big of a campus that I can create great relationships with professors, as well as smaller class sizes.

Why I’m excited to be an RA: I am excited to be an RA because I feel it is a great way to meet new people, but also to help residents feel more connected to Reilly as well as NAU. I look forward to being able to help my residents transition into being on their own as well as learning to make their own decisions. I feel this is such a great role because not only do you get to see your residents grow throughout the semester, but you also get to see yourself grow as a peer and a leader.

Why I chose NAU: I've wanted to live in Flagstaff since I was 10 years old. I love the weather, the environment, and the people of this small town!

Why I’m excited to be an RA: I'm excited to be an RA because this is an outstanding opportunity to mentor residents while developing myself into a stronger leader in my final year of college. I love to help people, so this is the perfect job for me!

Getting involved on campus and making new friends has really changed my life! Why I’m excited to be an RA: I can’t wait to meet my new residents! Being there for those who are new to campus is an important role and I am excited to fill it! The first year of college holds so much potential and I want to give residents every opportunity to make the most of it!
