Name: Daniel Conley

Major: Environmental Studies
Hometown: Payson, AZ
Why I chose NAU: I got a scholarship to my choice of any of the state universities. In choosing between the three universities I chose NAU for it's location, size, and degrees. I love Flagstaff, the small town feel, the San Francisco Peaks in our back yard, the snow in the winter, and the wealth of outdoor opportunities. I also didn't want to go to a huge university, and NAU is the smallest school of the three universities. When I graduated high school I was looking to pursue a career as a high school math
teacher and I really liked NAU's education program, which helped bring me here. Now I'm glad to be here and indulge in their environmental programs.
Why I’m excited for this year: I am excited for this year because for me it's the turning of a new page. I changed my major this summer and am looking forward to pursuing this new degree. There is
also an excitement that builds at the coming of each new school year, especially as an RA. We anticipate a whole new floor of residents, new names and faces, people with different interests, and their own stories.
