Summer Housing for NAU Students

Students registered for summer classes OR preregistered for the fall semester are eligible to live in summer housing. 

Summer housing application process

Summer 2017 housing is located in The Courtyards (Gillenwater/McDonald/Raymond) and South Village, each housing 2-3 students per apartment. The summer housing application will open by mid-March.  Apply by logging into the housing portal using your NAU user ID and password and follow the step-by-step directions to submit your application.  A $25 non-refundable summer housing application fee is required to complete your application.  This charge will be posted to your LOUIE account upon submission of your application and due within seven days of application to avoid cancellation.

Students Under 18:
For your housing application to be considered complete, all admitted applicants under the age of 18 must download and submit a copy of the contract terms including a parent or legal guardian signature, date and contact number within seven (7) days of submitting the application. If the signed contract terms are not submitted, the student’s housing application will be cancelled. View and print contract terms here

Workshop Housing 

Students enrolled in NAU-credit courses or workshops for fewer than 21 consecutive days during the 5 week summer sessions are eligible for workshop housing.

Applying for workshop housing
  • Workshop housing is based on space availability and duration of stay.  
  • Applications for workshop housing must be received at least 7 days in advance of your desired arrival date.
  • Please use your NAU gmail account to login. If you experience issues, please log off your standard Gmail account and login with your NAU Gmail account. 
  • If you are not registered for an NAU credit-bearing course, please have your sponsoring department register you as an NAU Affiliate prior to applying for housing.
What's included?

Workshop housing is located in The Courtyards (Gillenwater/McDonald/Raymond), an apartment-style community housing two to three individuals per apartment.  Housing assignments will be based on space availability and duration of stay.

Each one-bedroom apartment includes:

  • two to three beds, closets/wardrobes, dressers, and desks with chairs
  • kitchen area with a refrigerator, stove, sink, cabinets and table with chairs
  • living room area with a 4-piece sectional couch, end table and lamp
  • bathroom with tub shower, toilet, sink and mirror

Also included in your workshop housing rate:

  • Wireless and wired high-speed internet service is provided in all rooms. Directions for accessing the internet are available at the front desk. 
  • Linens are provided and include a blanket, two flat sheets, pillow/pillow case, towel, washcloth, and bathmat.

Rooms do not include phones, televisions, hair dryers or irons. Daily housekeeping service is not available. Additional trash bags are available at the front desk.

*Immediate family members include spouse and children under 18. A maximum occupancy of 5 people (4 teens/adults maximum) per apartment are allowed.

Workshop housing rent charges will be posted to your student LOUIE account.

Check-in and check-out details

Check-in for workshop housing will occur at the Raymond Hall front desk (building 39, northwest corner of the hall).  

You may check in after 3 p.m. the day before your workshop or class session begins. You must check out by 3 p.m. following the close of the workshop or class session. 

Bring your NAU ID to check into your hall. If you need to check in outside of your designated check-in dates or times, please contact our office to determine availability.

Policies, expectations and special requests

Workshop housing residents are accountable to the rules and regulations detailed in the Standards of Residence, the University Code of Conduct and Student Disciplinary Procedures found on the Policies and Expectations webpage.

With exception of approved service animals and fish, pets are not allowed in university housing.
