Many federal agencies and foundations offer grants, awards and fellowships that limit the number of applications that come from one institution. In an effort to make NAU as competitive as possible for the various limited submission opportunities, The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) has developed procedures for the timely review of pre-proposals for limited submission applications.
Limited Submission Process
The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) identifies limited submission funding opportunities through internet searches, web services and historical opportunities. Investigators are encouraged to notify the OVPR if they find funding opportunities that may fall into this category.
The OVPR notifies by e-mail appropriate Deans, Directors, Chairs, and Faculty members of the opportunity, and provides general directions and deadlines for submission of pre-proposals, including links to the sponsor’s website for full solicitation details, and to the OVPR Limited Submission Opportunities webpage. The Limited Submission Opportunities webpage provides the complete instructions and details for the submission of the pre-proposal.
After the pre-proposal deadline, the proposals received are reviewed by members of the OVPR Review Committee. Review committee members are chosen ad hoc based on related and relevant expertise. Review Committee members determine which proposal(s) will go forward with a full proposal to the sponsor. Once results are determined, all internal applicants, and the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) are notified of the outcome. The Investigators then contact the OSP for assistance in the preparation and submission of the full proposal to the sponsor.
Limited Submission Opportunities
The Current Limited Submission Opportunities list is updated weekly, but please be aware that it should not be considered comprehensive. Anyone who wishes to apply to a limited submission RFP that is not posted on this webpage, should contact email@example.com. The Current Limited Submission Opportunities will be reviewed and an appropriate internal deadline will be established and posted.
