Private Rental of the Wall  

The climbing wall is a great place to take a group of people looking to have fun, experience something exciting, and explore the dynamics of their group. University and community groups may rent the climbing wall for recreational and educational uses like:

• birthday parties
• retreats
• employee wellness programs
• instructional programs

Private rental gives a group exclusive access to the climbing wall during the designated rental time.

The climbing wall is available for private rental outside of open climb hours. 

Minimum group size

Rental rates are based on a minimum group size of 12 climbers.  For small groups, inquire for pricing.  

Rates

All prices include:

• set-up and take-down time
• equipment rental, including shoes and harnesses
• introductory climbing instruction
• a staff-to-participant ratio of 1:6 for beginners or 1:12 for experienced climbers 

Add-on services such as food, refreshments, and parking can be arranged at an additional fee with advance notice.

When to make a reservation

Group reservations are only scheduled outside of open hours. We cannot accommodate groups during open hours.

Portable climbing wall rentals

Public on-campus events: The portable climbing wall can be reserved for up to four hours for promotional purposes during organized campus events at no charge.  Additional hours are available at a rate of $50 per hour.

Private events on campus: The portable climbing wall is available to groups and organizations contracting with the university to hold special events on campus. The wall is available to these groups at a base rate of $100, plus $50 per hour with a two-hour minimum rental time.

Off-campus events:  The portable climbing wall may be available to groups and organizations not associated with the university or held on campus. The wall is available to these groups at a base rate of $100, plus $100 per hour with a two-hour minimum rental time, plus mileage at $1.00 per mile. 

All prices include set up and take down time, equipment rental (harnesses, ropes, belay devices), introductory climbing instruction, and two staff members.  Additional staff is available at a rate of $15 per hour, per staff member.
