Fitness provides a variety of diverse experiences focusing on:

  • fostering a healthy and active lifestyle
  • developing new skills
  • enhancing professional development 

Our programs range from Zumba and Yoga to group fitness instructor prep courses. If you’re looking to become a certified Personal Trainer or interested in earning continuing education credits, we host unique, accredited workshops and nationally recognized certifications right inside the Health and Learning Center. Cancellation policy 

Based on enrollment policies, classes that do not meet minimum enrollment by the registration deadline will be cancelled. If a class is cancelled, registered participants will be notified immediately by either NAU or the company/organization to discuss a refund of fees provided.

Payment

Payment for workshops and classes offered through Campus Recreation Services must be made at the time of registration at the Recreation Center front desk.  We accept the following methods of payment:

  • major credit cards
  • check
  • cash
  • Jacks Debit Express

Want to offer a class or workshop?

Facility space and class times are limited.  The ability to meet the following requirements and policies does not guarantee your program’s acceptance.  Decisions will be based on the instructional components of the program being offered, compliance with Campus Recreation Services rules and regulations, and the availability of facility space.

Policies and Requirements

Insurance

All potential instructors must obtain commercial liability insurance of $1 million dollars and $100,000 for property damage for all programs offered through Campus Recreation Services.  A copy of the liability insurance must be provided upon acceptance of the workshop or class.  For additional information please visit Property and Liability Insurance Services.

Certifications

All potential instructors must be currently certified in CPR/AED. 

Invoicing, payment, and equipment

All potential instructors will discuss cost for program, payment, and facility equipment use with the Fitness Coordinator.

Parking

Campus Recreation Services does not provide parking or validation of parking to instructors or participants.  You may purchase a day permit for $5 in the commuter parking lots at guest kiosks located at San Francisco Street and Riordan Road.  For additional information, please visit Parking Services.  

Scheduling

All potential instructors must provide the Fitness Coordinator with at least three to four potential dates and times to schedule the program, with the understanding that class times and facility space are limited. 

Marketing

All potential instructors are responsible for marketing their programs outside of the university community.  Campus Recreation Services will work in conjunction with instructors to market on campus.
