Class schedule

The semester schedule has a lot to offer in multiple classrooms in the health and learning center. The class descriptions below will help you find the right class for you!

Class descriptions

Find the right class for you with the following class descriptions. All of these free, drop-in classes are taught by certified group fitness instructors. From the gym to the pool, we have a class that is right for you! 

Aqua Classes

Aqua Fit: A high intensity, high energy class, this class will incorporate interval training in a suspended environment providing you with an incredible cardiovascular and resistance training workout. You will sculpt and tone your muscles incorporating leg strengthening exercises, sculling and through the use of resistive aqua equipment. All classes are held at the Wall Aquatic Center.

Aqua Bootcamp: Experience power, strength, and agility movements in and out of the water. This class will push your limits while you fight through the resistance of the water and move through plyometric exercises on land. Dress accordingly: bathing suit, towels are not provided.  

Aqua TRX: Aqua TRX consists of stations, circuits and intervals that utilize both the water and the TRX® (on land). This workout will make you feel the small muscles you never thought you had! You will feel the burn in and out of the water.  Dress accordingly: bathing suit, towels are not provided.

Sculpting Classes

20-20-20: Three workouts in one! The 20-20-20 class is designed to give you the ultimate challenge and total body workout. Sweat through 20 minutes of arms, 20 minutes of legs, and 20 minutes of abs and core work. Are you ready for the challenge?

BLT (Butt, Legs, & Thighs): Total focus on the lower body using bands, dumbbells, balls, and body bars. Lower body training at its finest! 30 minutes is all you'll need to feel the burn!

BLT & ABS: Total focus on the lower body using bands, dumbbells, balls, and body bars. Lower body training at its finest! 30 minutes of legs followed by a 15 minute total front and back abdominal workout!

Boxing: This workout is designed to give you an alternative, yet challenging workout!  The workouts will consist of non-contact basic techniques, numerous offensive and defensive drills as well as many other aspects of boxing!  Never done boxing before?  That’s ok!  Our group fitness boxing instructors will teach the basics as well as advanced techniques to everyone!  Blow off some steam and get fit!  Due to equipment limitations, this class is limited to 20 participants, first come first serve.

Hardcore Abs: Tired of endless crunches?  Train your core from the inside out using stability balls, medicine balls, and your own body weight.  You’ll experience a total front and back abdominal workout which will help you achieve your core strengthening goals.

Hardcore Abs & Foam Rolling: In addition to strengthening your core with unique ab exercises, you will utilize the foam roller to stretch. The foam roller will help to reduce soreness, create better circulation, and break up the fibrous tissue that has built up.  You will leave this class feeling not only rejuvenated but well-worked from a great workout!

Pilates: A class that works your entire body without even knowing it!  Pilates workouts consist of a compilation muscular endurance, conditioning, yoga, sports and dance exercises. The class will challenge core and peripheral strength while working on posture, coordination, balance, and flexibility.

TRX: TRX® suspension is the next level of training.  Achieve ultimate results by sculpting and shredding your muscles utilizing a variety of push, pull, hang and suspension work.  Experience a heart pumping, body busting workout in a SMALL class environment & receive INDIVIDUALIZED workouts. Class limit 12.

Upper Cut: 30 minutes of total upper body shaping and sculpting. Work it out with weights and your body’s own resistance to create the burn.

Yoga Classes

All Levels Yoga: Through this class, gain experiential knowledge while you are taught the foundations of yoga. Learn how to focus on technique and alignment of each posture and open up your body for breathing, flexibility, and strength training. The workout helps reduce your stress and improves your physical and mental balance. Each yoga workout can be easily modified to accommodate all experience levels. Please bring your own yoga mat to each class. The front desk has limited supply so please plan accordingly.

Beginners Yoga: This class is for individuals without prior yoga experience or beginners who would like a detailed refresher class. A beginning level class suitable for all ages and fitness will build confidence and prepare you for our more experienced level classes. Please bring your own yoga mat to each class.  The front desk has limited supply so please plan accordingly.

Cardio Flow Yoga: This is a great cardio workout that involves balance, flexibility, and flows through quicker poses. This 60 minute class will get your heart pumping without moving from your mat. You will experience a high heart rate and respiratory rate. You can expect to burn calories and sweat throughout the yoga practice. Please bring your own yoga mat to each class.  The front desk has limited supply so please plan accordingly.

Gentle Flow Yoga: Open to all levels of practice and abilities, our soothing gentle class focuses on an exploration of basic yoga poses and how to connect them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. Therapeutic in nature, you will learn techniques to help you gain flexibility, while immersing yourself in a relaxing class that moves at a perfectly slower pace - allowing ample time to enjoy each pose. Please bring your own yoga mat to each class. The front desk has limited supply so please plan accordingly.

Hot Yoga: This is a flex-flow yoga practice in a heated and humid room.  This is not Bikram yoga.  The flex-flow practice builds internal heat to prepare the muscles and connective tissues for deeper stretches and facilitates perspiration to cleanse the body and clear the mind. This class also focuses on pose alignment and the breath to connect the body and mind, increase flexibility, and reduce stress. Please bring your own yoga mat.  Remember to come to class hydrated and with a bottle of water.  We recommend wearing moisture-wicking workout clothing and bringing a towel.

Restorative Yoga: This peaceful, relaxing class will focus on basic yoga poses, connecting them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. Therapeutic in nature, you will learn techniques to help you gain flexibility, while immersing yourself in a relaxing class that moves at a perfectly slower pace - allowing ample time to enjoy each pose, distress, and be present in the current moment.  Please bring your own yoga mat to each class. The front desk has limited supply so please plan accordingly.

Zumba and Dance Classes

Contemporary Jazz: This contemporary class will teach you dances like you have seen on television. Learn the current dance moves to top 20 and timeless music.  This is an upbeat, challenging and fun workout!  The class is designed for all levels of dancers.  Join us for a great workout with others that enjoy dance just as much as you do.

Hip Hop Abs: Tighten & tone your abs without a single crunch or a sit-up! Hip Hop Abs will help you strengthen while grooving and dancing to hip hop's top hits. This is a combination of an all levels dance class and an ab class that will incorporate dancing, equipment, and fun!

Latin Dance: Come experience the flavor of the Latin dance world! In this class you will be learning, the afro-Cuban dance of Salsa, the Dominican love music of Bachata, and the fun lively Dominican style of Merengue. All you need to bring is yourself and your excitement to learn! So head on over!

Baile Latino: Ven y disfruta el sabor de el mundo del baile latino! En esta clase aprenderás el estilo afro-Cubano de Salsa, el estilo Dominicano de Bachata, y el divertidísimo Merengue Dominicano. Lo único que necesitaras será venir y traer la emoción de aprender!

Zumba: Drop it like it's hot!  This class mixes salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton, samba, bachata, belly dance, and hip hop - you won't feel like you are in a fitness class, you will feel like you are at the club!  This class combines fast and slow rhythms that get your heart pumping. It’s a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps perfect for anyone with or without dance experience!! Come Zumba with us!
