NAU President John D. Haeger
announced in September that he would leave the position by the end of his contract in June 2015. Haeger has led in a period of tremendous growth and significant
financial crisis that saw enrollment increases of 34 percent and $60 million in
funding cuts from the state. Amid these challenges, the university’s
infrastructure was modernized, course delivery modes continue to evolve and
education remains affordable and accessible.
As Northern Arizona University prepares to welcome its 16th president, it does
so from a solid foundation rooted in undergraduate education that serves
first-generation and minority students, offers unprecedented opportunities in
research, a guaranteed tuition program and ground breaking student success
