Ground Dwelling Beetles from the Elevation Gradient of the San Francisco Peaks in Northern Arizona

This project is imaging the ground dwelling beetles that were found on the elevation gradient of the San Francisco Peaks in northern Arizona. The reference collection that these images are from was developed over two years. Each specimen has locality information, sampling dates and a unique identifier associated with it. The reasoning for the imaging project is to be able to share the images with beetle specialists and ensure correct current identification, or to identify the specimens to genus and species. The reference collection will be used in the future to correctly identify beetle species and as a base reference to develop "niche" models for current distribution and future distribution models.
