Add Site-Wide Sidebar
How to create a site-wide sidebar
Creating a site-wide sidebar
To create a site-wide sidebar, navigate through the CMS folder structure to the site in which the sidebar is to be placed. Select “New” on the toolbar at the top of the page, hover over the “Smartform” button, then select “Sidebar” as shown.
Add the sidebar’s title, heading, and content in their respective areas the same way you would add content to a normal page. When you are done, select the “Publish” button located in the toolbar at the top of the page.
Attaching site-wide sidebar to Page Layout
To attach a site-wide sidebar, enter the “Edit Page Layout” screen as instructed previously. Select the arrows on the bottom of the blue bar located at the top of the page.
Click and hold the box entitled “Sitewide Sidebar” and drag it to the right side of the page.
Make sure to place the box above the “Secondary Content” slots as shown. The box just placed will be entitled “Content Block Widget.”
Select the “Edit” button (the pencil icon) to link in the sidebar.
A box titled “Editing Widget” will pop up. Navigate to the folder in which the sidebar is located and select “Save.”
The sidebar will now be placed site-wide with the title, heading, and content input into the “Sidebar Smartform.”
Publish the Page Layout by selecting “File” then “Publish” in the blue bar at the top of the page.
