The Wyss Scholars program at Northern Arizona University

Since 2008 the Wyss Scholars Program for the Conservation of the American West at NAU has supported emerging leaders in the field of western conservation while they complete their master's level degree. Wyss Scholars receive partial funding during their course of study, a $5,000 summer stipend for a summer internship experience, and a series of post-graduation awards that are contingent upon qualified work in the field of conservation. The scholarship program also engages the Scholars in monthly leadership development seminars and an annual retreat with Wyss Scholars from across the nation.

All previous Wyss Scholars at NAU have been students in the Master of Science Program in Environmental Science and Policy, but the opportunity has recently been expanded to potentially make awards to two students from the NAU's Masters programs in Biology, Forestry, Climate Science and Solutions, and/or Political Science over the next four years.
