New employee orientation

New employee orientation is required of all new, benefit-eligible employees and must be completed within 30 days of your start date.

New employee orientation is a two-hour session, held once or twice per month.

Orientation covers topics such as:

  • the mission, goals and values of the university
  • the rights and responsibilities employees have in their employment relationship with the university
  • resources available to employees

New faculty orientation

In addition to the mandatory New Employee Orientation, new faculty are required to attend a new faculty orientation. For more information, visit the new faculty page and check out the New Faculty Checklist.

Graduate assistant orientation

Graduate assistants employed by the university (whether in teaching, research, or student services roles) are required to attend an orientation provided by the Graduate College each August. 

New employee orientation presentation

An online orientation is available if you do not work on the Flagstaff campus or if you have a scheduling conflict with orientation sessions.

To satisfy the new employee orientation requirement:

  • View the presentation.
  • Print out the acknowledgement form.
  • Fill out your information.
  • Sign.
  • Send to Human Resources.
