Her research areas include the study of performance in daily life, gender and diversity studies, animal performance (both in daily life and on stage), qualitative research methods, and theatre directing and devising. She has a number of short manifestos and book reviews published and is currently working on an essay about Victorian gender performance in contemporary sidesaddle equestrian riding competitions. Season serves as a Co-Chair for the Commission of the Status of Women, faculty advisor for NAU’s Educational Theatre Company, and the faculty artistic director for Exposure Theatre, a health and wellness theatre troupe that promotes healthy behavior and social change on the NAU campus. Season grew up in Arkansas and spent a number of years in the Midwest. She was thrilled to move to Flagstaff in 2011 because of her love of animals and the outdoors. When she is not at work, she spends her time training and riding horses, working on her mini-ranch, and hiking with her dog. She also makes homemade herbal dog and horse cookies and is a certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist!
