Birth Control Education Class

What is birth control?  

Birth control (or contraception) refers to a variety of methods and products designed to prevent unintentional pregnancy for sexually active men and women. 

This class will discuss two types of methods: non-hormonal contraception and hormonal contraception. Click on the links below to learn about each method. 

Non-Hormonal Methods

  • Condoms (Male/Female)
  • Diaphragm
  • Spermicide
  • The Sponge
  • Fertility Awareness/Natural Family Planning
  • Non-hormonal IUD (Intrauterine Device)

Hormonal Methods

  • The Pill (including Emergency Contraception)
  • The Patch
  • The Ring
  • The Shot
  • The Implant
  • Hormonal IUD (Intrauterine Devices)
