served with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for 22 years where
he was a Deputy Director for the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific in
UNPD Headquarters in New York; Director of the UNDP office in Washington D.C.;
and UNDP Resident Representative and UN Resident Coordinator (with the rank of
ambassador) in the South Pacific, China, and Vietnam. Before joining UNDP,
Morey served on the White House staff under President Richard Nixon and as
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs.
Prior to this, Morey was Associate Professor and Chairman of the Political
Science Department at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. He currently
serves on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Southern Arizona and the Tucson
Committee on Foreign Relations. He and his wife Delores retired in Tucson in
1999; they have two daughters and eight grandchildren.
