Biography

Chris is a member of the Federal Senior Executive Service and the executive director of the Office of Navajo and Hopi Indian Relocation. He chairs the boards of the Flagstaff Medical Center and the Peaks Senior Living Community. He is treasurer of the Board of Northern Arizona Healthcare and a governing board member of the Flagstaff Unified School District. He has served as mayor of Flagstaff, executive director of the Northern Arizona Council of Governments, and a detective for the Flagstaff Police Department. Chris has also served or is serving in leadership roles on nonprofit organization boards such as Sigma Chi Fraternity, Museum of Northern Arizona, Big Brother/Big Sisters of Flagstaff, Flagstaff YMCA, Flagstaff Kiwanis, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and the United Way. Chris is a Distinguished Alumni for the NAU College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and he received the Arizona Board of Regents Outstanding Service to Higher Education Award, the Significant Sig recognition and two Presidential citations. Chris was also a Flagstaff Citizen of the Year. He and his wife Corinne have been Flagstaff residents for 40 years. They have three daughters and three grandchildren.
