Graduate Assistantship and Tuition Waiver Opportunities

Every spring the Teaching and Learning department has a limited number of graduate assistantships and tuition waivers available for qualifying students. Students who apply to any of these opportunities will be reviewed by a selection committee and award announcements will be made by mid-May.  The graduate assistantship/tuition waiver application due date is April 15.  Your application, state of need, curriculum vita or resume must be received by that date to be considered for a department graduate assistantship position and for the tuition waivers for the next academic year.

To qualify for a Graduate Assistantship (GA), you need to:

  • be enrolled full time (9 units) in one of the Teaching and Learning graduate programs or in the C&I Doctoral Program
  • able to work 20 hrs. per week to fulfill the GA assignment
  • not be funded by an agency that covers tuition costs

To qualify for a tuition waiver, you need to:

  • be enrolled full time (9 units) in one of the Teaching and Learning graduate programs or in the C&I Doctoral Program
  • not be funded by an agency that covers tuition costs
  • be either an in-state student or an out of state student (we have only 2-3 out of state tuition waivers)
