Bachelor of Science in Education: Career and Technical Education—Occupational Education Emphasis
Advance your career or find personal enrichment with this
degree emphasis. This program is ideal if you:
- want to train others in the technologies of
their field
- need specific occupational training
- have occupational work experience or prior
college credits
In this program, you can use up to 90 hours of
transfer credit and up to 53 hours of occupational experience credit toward
your degree.
This program is an online degree that does not
involve student teaching and does not lead to secondary certification.

Degree requirements
To earn this degree, you must complete a total of 120 credit
hours:
- 35 units of liberal studies requirements
- 55 units of major requirements (can include 35
hours for NOCTI exam and/or 18 hours for occupational experience)
- 30 units of CTE requirements
- elective courses, if needed, to reach an overall
total of at least 120 units

Additional class registration information
Undergrads need to have a signed "Override
Authorization/Out-of-Career" form to take 500-level classes.
Graduate students need the same form to take a 400-level
class and have it count towards a degree program. Complete the form (PDF version) (Word version) and fax it to Laura Cook at
