Arrange housing before you travel

If you have applied and have been accepted for on-campus NAU Housing, Residence Halls are open early for international students on January 9 from 8:00am-5:00pm. The early check-in rate is $20 per night. NAU Housing and Residence Life assignments are sent to your NAU email account one week prior to the start of the semester. As a courtesy, please contact your residence, apartment or hotel in advance with your expected arrival time in Flagstaff. If you need housing when you arrive, we recommend hotels in the postal code 86001 or in walking distance from campus.

Arrival Notification

The Center for International Education (CIE) will greet new international students at the Flagstaff airport or the AZ Shuttle stop on campus. Please provide arrival information in advance by completing the Arrival Notification E-form in the New Student Orientation E-Forms at iNAU.

Shuttle from Phoenix

Flagstaff is approximately three hours from Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. Arizona Shuttle offers transportation from Phoenix Airport to Flagstaff. If you are living on campus, select drop off location: Central NAU campus.Please make sure to view the Arizona Shuttle schedule when planning your travel. 

Taxis and other transportation

If you are arriving outside of the offered pick-up times, taxis will be available for transportation at the Flagstaff Airport or Amtrak station (Arizona Shuttle location) for each arriving flight or shuttle. The average cost for a taxi in Flagstaff is $3.00 per person and $1.70 per mile. Wheelchair Accessible Taxis are available at $15.00 per person and $1.80 per mile. The Greyhound bus has a station in Flagstaff with service from Phoenix. The city bus system, Mountain Link, has frequent routes and locations in town.
