Admissions

Whether you are a Global Science and Engineering (GSEP) scholar, an international student, or simply want to live in a dynamic community with students from around the world, your first step in making the International House learning community your new home is to apply. Please note there are two admissions processes:

  • Priority Admissions Process (for students currently living on-campus at NAU)
  • Regular Admissions Process (for all students)

Priority Admissions Process

The priority admissions process is only for students who are already living on-campus at NAU.

1. Submit the International House application

If you do not currently live in the I-House, please read carefully, complete, and submit the International House Application and Personal Statement online by March 11, 2015 at 8am to be considered for the priority admissions process. If you currently live in the I-House, please complete the I-House Returners Form to request to return to live in the International House for another year.

2. Letter of acceptance

If you are accepted, you will receive an e-mail by March 14, 2015 stated so. If you have been placed on the waiting list or not accepted, you will receive an e-mail as well.

3. Room selection

All accepted students will be invited to the NAU International House room selection process on Saturday, March 28th at the Blome Building (building #2). At that event you will be able to select your room and meet other I-House students who will be living there next year.

4. Submit a residence hall contact application

Once you have selected your room, NAU I-House staff will send your housing assignment to NAU Housing and Residence Life. To confirm your assignment, you will need to apply to live on campus with the Office of Housing and Residence life online through the NAU Housing Portal, during the application window of April 1, 2015 at 8am through April 10, 2015 at 5pm. If you do not apply during this time, you will lose your I-House room assignment.

Regular Admissions Process

The regular admissions process is for all students applying after March 11, 2015, and all students who do not currently reside at NAU.

1. Submit the International House application

The acceptance letter confirms that a space has been reserved for you based on the term you applied. If not admitted or placed on the waiting list, you will also receive an e-mail indicating so.
