Dennis Tanner has been a professor at Northern Arizona University since 1976. He received his Doctorate in Audiology and Speech Sciences from Michigan State University.
Dr. Tanner's specialties include neurogenic communication disorders, stuttering, speaker profiling and identification for forensic purposes, and the speech sciences. He serves as an expert witness in medical malpractice cases involving speech-language pathology and swallowing disorders. He has 14 books currently in print addressing a wide variety of topics related to communication sciences and disorders.
Primary Teaching Areas in the Department: Speech-Language Sciences and Technology (SST) and Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) certification.
