Dr. Wende Yellin has worked in the
field of communication disorders for over thirty years. She entered the field as a teacher of the
deaf, and then changed her focus to follow a career in clinical audiology. Prior to joining the faculty of NAU, Dr.
Yellin worked in medical audiological settings, and has experience in the areas
of newborn hearing screening, diagnostic audiology, including
electrophysiological testing, vestibular testing, and auditory processing
testing, and aural rehabilitation.
Currently, Dr. Yellin is a member of the CSD academic faculty and
teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. Her clinical responsibilities include
pediatric audiological testing and auditory processing testing. She is a member of the American
Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the American Academy of
Audiology (AAA), serving as Chair of the AAA Task Force on the Assessment of
Hearing in Children.
