Dr. Judith King has served as a
professor, advisor and mentor to hundreds of students across her 25 + year
career at Northern Arizona University.
Dr. King’s clinical and research interests include the areas of voice,
fluency, early intervention and increasing the number, diversity and cultural
competence of the ASHA membership. Dr. King is a member of two of ASHA’s Special Interest
Groups (Administration and Supervision;
Communication Disorders and Sciences in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse
Populations). She is also LSVT™ certified
for the treatment of patients with Parkinson disease. Dr. King is particularly
fond of working with Native American families and their children and has done
so for over 30 years on the Hopi, Navajo, Apache, Havasupai, Hualapai and
Mohave reservations. She maintains
strong professional ties with former American Indian students who are now
practicing SLPs across the state of Arizona.
