Brent joined the NAU sports medicine staff this year. His primary sport responsibility is women’s basketball. Brent spent a year in Durango, CO working at Fort Lewis College. There he provided health care services to both the men’s soccer and basketball programs and taught courses in the athletic training education program.
Brent attended Utah State University to earn his Master’s Degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Sports Medicine. While furthering his education he fulfilled the health care needs of the Aggie football team and track and field and cross country teams.
Originally from Iowa, Brent earned his Bachelors of Science Degree from Iowa State University. As an undergraduate student athletic trainer, he worked with various Cyclone athletic teams including football, woman’s volleyball, and woman’s tennis.
Brent is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is First Aid/AED Certified as a professional rescuer. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association as well as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Training Association.
Outside of his Athletic Training career, Brent enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, and spending time with his wife Emily and dog Sully.
