Students are
selected for the following scholarships and awards based on faculty
nominations. Students do not apply for these awards on their own. The
Department’s ability to give these scholarships and awards is contingent upon
funding availability.

Chemistry Department
Scholarship and Awards Fund
The Chemistry
Department Scholarship and Awards Fund was established in 1991. Awardees are
selected each spring by a vote of the chemistry faculty.
Russ B. Powell
Chemistry Scholarship
The Russ B.
Powell Chemistry Scholarship was established in 2007. Awards are given to
continuing Northern Arizona University undergraduate and graduate chemistry
majors who demonstrate a strong commitment to and enthusiasm for chemistry.
Scott Savage
Scholarship
The Scott Savage
Scholarship was established in 2000 to provide scholarships to Northern Arizona
University undergraduate chemistry majors who are active in extracurricular
activities.
Nancy and Henry
Wettaw Chemistry Awards
The Nancy and
Henry Wettaw Chemistry Award was established in 1995 for students completing
general and organic chemistry. Preference is given to chemistry majors.
Clinton F. Lane
Chemistry Research Fund
The Clinton F.
Lane Chemistry Research Fund was established in 2007 to provide a research stipend
to one or more students majoring in chemistry. Preference is given to junior or
senior level students who exhibit a passion for chemistry. Students must be
participating in undergraduate research.
