Bachelor of Science in Biology

Our Bachelor of Science in Biology will provide you with the background necessary for admission to graduate school or for direct entry into a career in the biological sciences.

The BS in Biology offers nine focus areas:

  • behavior
  • botany
  • cellular and molecular biology
  • ecology
  • evolution
  • fish and wildlife management
  • physiology
  • pre-health professions
  • zoology

Degree requirements

You must complete at least 120 units of course work, as follows:

  • at least 35 units of liberal studies requirements–you may not use courses with a BIO prefix to satisfy these liberal studies requirements
  • at least 62 units of major requirements
  • elective courses, if needed, to reach an overall total of at least 120 units
