The MEP is one
means of addressing the critical issue of support, retention, and graduation of
students in undergraduate engineering programs and helping them make
connections to the industry workforce.
serves as a resource center for all engineering and construction management
students. Utilizing a number of collaborative strategies that involve engineering program faculty and staff, student organizations, the university
community and industry, we make every effort to assist students in reaching

Perks of being an MEP MemberMEP perks and programs
The MEP employs qualified student tutors for regularly scheduled Drop-in Tutoring, One-on-one Tutoring, or Group Tutoring in the Engineering Building. Space to study, hang out in between classes, find a stapler for your assignment, have a cup of free coffee or tea, get help on math or physics, or meet students just like you. Students who enroll in the MEP have access to the computers in the MEP Lounge, including free printing. The MEP Lounge hours mirror the Engineering Building hours: Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM, Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. In the first week of every month MEP members receive an email containing the MEP Voices newsletter full of important dates, study tips, scholarships, internship info, pertinent news or events, and maybe a surprise or two. The newsletter is the voice of the program! If you'd like to contribute to the newsletter (whether a personal story, exciting research, a group accomplishment, or even an engineering-related comic) contact the MEP Coordinator.
Calculator Loan Program
Need a graphing calculator? The MEP has 10 graphing calculators (mostly TI-84s) to loan out each semester to MEP members.
Experts across campus share tips and tidbits to make you successful. Test Anxiety? There's a workshop for that. Want to know how to create a stellar resume? There's a workshop for that. Need some help figuring out how to manage your time? There's a workshop for that... and many more. Keep an eye on the Newsletter for highlighted workshops or contact the MEP Coordinator to request one!
Academic Success Meetings
A great opportunity to ‘check in’ and have a safe space for listening, MEP members can schedule a weekly or monthly academic success meeting with the MEP Coordinator to talk about how the semester is going, share challenges, and identify productive study habits.
