Multicultural engineering program
1994, the Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) at NAU strives to enhance the academic performance
of students pursuing Engineering and Professional Programs and to support underrepresented student populations in these programs.
The MEP serves as a resource for students who want an encouraging community and support in achieving academic, personal, and career goals.
Students pursuing Engineering majors and Professional Programs (Construction Management and Computer Science) through CEFNS are eligible for MEP membership. Membership is free and gives you access to benefits and programs that support your success.
To become a member, fill out this online registration form.
MEP members need to re-register each semester to access program benefits.
Benefits of being a member of the MEP
Joining the MEP has its perks. Maybe you have already registered or maybe you need some convincing, either way, below you will find the free perks and programs designed to support MEP members.Free tutoring
The MEP employs qualified student tutors for regularly scheduled drop-in tutoring, one-on-one tutoring, and group tutoring in the Engineering Building MEP Lounge (room 107). View your tutoring options and courses supported by the MEP this semester! Tutoring is not offered during spring break, winter closure, or on University Holidays.
The MEP also partners with the Student Learning Centers (SLC) on campus to provide access to one-on-one tutoring via the Master Schedule, at no cost to MEP members. If you are interested in Master Schedule tutoring check out the lists of courses supported by the SLCs and contact the MEP administrative assistant to be referred to the program.
MEP is hiring tutors for civil and environmental (CENE), and electrical engineering (EE) course!
MEP is looking for qualified juniors or seniors majoring in civil, environmental, and electrical engineering to join our team. Past tutoring, TA, or peer mentoring experience is always a plus. Tutors typically work 2-10 hours a week, depending on student demand. Pay is $9-11/hour depending on experience.
