To apply, you should select Computer Science as your primary disciplinary focus.

Admission requirements over and above admission to NAU are required:

o    NAU Graduate Online application required (www.nau.edu/graduateapply) for all programs. Details on admission requirements are included in the online application.

o    Admission to many graduate programs is on a competitive basis, and programs may have higher standards than those established by the Graduate College.

Other requirements:

  • BS degree in engineering, computer science, or an equivalent with a 3.0 GPA or above in the last 60 credit hours OR with another Bachelor's degree, you may be admitted provisionally and required to take a set of prerequisite coursework in computer science, mathematics and statistics.  Download a list of the courses required here*.
  • Submit scores from your GRE exam
  • Three letters of recommendation and a personal statement or essay
  • International students whose native language is not English must also submit TOEFL score

*Note: If your BS degree is in a closely related field (for example, Chemical Engineering or Engineering Physics), then courses toward that degree (if completed with a grade of B or better) may be satisfy some of the prerequisites.
