If you want to apply, you must select one primary disciplinary focus from Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science. The primary disciplinary focus is normally the department:

• where you  intend to take the majority of your coursework
• of your academic adviser

Other requirements:

• BS degree in engineering, computer science, or an equivalent with a 3.0 GPA or above in the last 60 credit hours
• submit scores from your GRE exam
• international students whose native language is not English must also submit TOEFL scores

If you don’t have the above degree, then you are required to complete a pre-MSE course of study in computer science.

Note: If your BS degree is in a closely related field (for example, Chemical Engineering or Engineering Physics), then courses toward that degree (if completed with a grade of B or better) may serve as prerequisites.
