PIE Short-Term Summer Program: Group
Itinerary Program in Intensive English 4-Week Summer Program
Arrival: June 29, 2014, Phoenix, Sky Harbor Airport. Departure:
July 27, 2014, also from Phoenix, Sky Harbor airport.
will provide transportation from and to Sky Harbor airport.
Accommodations: 28 nights, 3 meals per day
will be housed in campus dormitories with 2 students per room. Meals will be
provided at on campus dining facilities with box lunches for off campus
20 hours per week of English Instruction in the level best suited to your students. All books
and materials are included.

- Grand Canyon National Park
- Sedona, AZ a day of shopping and sightseeing in the
red rocks of Oak Creek Canyon
- Wupatki,National Monument, a Native American
- Lava Tubes, a hiking experience through underground
tubes created by local volcanos
- Northern AZ Museum, a natural and Native American
- Walnut Canyon, a Native American cliff dwelling built
on the sides of a canyon
- Conversation partners
- Sports night
- Independence Day, 4th of July Parade
- First Friday Art Walk in Downtown Flagstaff
- Movies at Heritage Square
- Ice Skating
- Art in the Park, local art exhibits
- Concerts in the Park, music concerts in at Wheeler
The per-person rate for your group will be $3,200
based on a minimum of 10 students. This
includes transportation to and from Phoenix airport, rooms based on double
occupancy, meals, instruction, field trips and activities as outlined above.
In order for this program to be
successful, the following requirements must be met:
has completed a Short-term Program Interest Form
participants are 18 years of age or older
participants have completed a PIE application (supplied by PIE on receipt
of Short-term Program Form)
participants are associated with the home university as current students
participants are aware that participation in classes, lectures, activities
and excursions are a requirement
participants must obtain a B-2 Visa to travel to the United States
travel from the home country to Phoenix, Arizona is the responsibility of
participants. If a participant
arrives outside of the group and planned pick-up time, they will be
responsible for their own transportation costs to Northern Arizona
travel insurance and/or health insurance will be the responsibility of
your students and/or university.
Please be advised that medical care in the United States is costly
and health insurance should be arranged well in advance.
- Final confirmation of the number of participants is needed by April 15,
2014. A 50% deposit of the total amount will be due by April 15, 2014. The
Final payment will be due by May 7, 2014.
Waiver of Liability
Arizona University and the Program in Intensive English will not take
responsibility for the behavior of any member of your organization. Each participant is responsible for their own
actions and will not hold anyone else liable for their action or cause. All confirmed participants will sign a Waiverof Liability. These forms must be signed
and sent by May 7, 2014.
