NAU Symphony and Chamber Orchestra Concert:
Symphonic Collage

The orchestras will present a sampler of classics from Italy, England, the Czech Republic, Germany, France, and Finland. Works to be performed include Handel's Entrance of the Queen of Sheba, selections from Respighi's Ancient Airs and Dances, Smetana's Themes from the Moldau, Berlioz's March to the Scaffold, the second movement of Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, and the finale of Sibelius's Symphony No. 2.


NAU Orchestras and Phoenix Youth Symphony Concert:
Shostakovich Symphony No. 5 and Haydn C major Cello Concerto

The Phoenix Youth Symphony will join the NAU Symphony in a side-by-side performance of Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5. Also on the program is Haydn's C major Cello Concerto with Dr. Mary Ann Ramos, soloist.

Arizona Music Educators Association Concert

The NAU Orchestras will present a mini-concert at the AMEA Convention in Mesa, AZ.

The NAU Orchestras celebrate student achievement in this highly virtuosic program, featuring the 2015 Concerto Competition Winners (TBD), and a performance of Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring.

The Marriage of Figaro

The NAU Symphony and Opera Theatre present Mozart's Marriage of Figaro, a comic story of a scheming Count who is outsmarted by his clever staff.

Arash Ertefai will lead the NAU Chamber Orchestra in a lecture-performance of (TBD). This off-campus event is free and open to the public.

Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5

The NAU Symphony will perform Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 in E minor. Despite negative reactions at its premier, this symphony has gone on to become one of the composer's most popular works.
