Private music lessons

The NAU Community Music and Dance Academy offers you the opportunity to get individualized instruction on just about any instrument. Our two largest programs are in voice and piano, which culminate in at least one master class and/or recital as well as occasional community performance opportunities.

If you or your child are interested in taking private lessons through the academy on a specific instrument, please ask if we have available teachers for that particular instrument. Most often, we are able to find a match. We even have a composition teacher!

We offer a wide range of highly qualified instructors in the vocal area.

To begin taking lessons, contact Margaret Gunderson and set up an audition. Your audition will determine which instructor is best suited to your ability level.

You must be at least 13 years old to receive private instruction through the academy.

To begin taking lessons, you will need to register. After registration, you will be placed with an instructor by the area coordinator, Rita Borden.

You must be at least 5 years old to receive instruction through the academy.

In addition to voice and piano lessons, the academy offers private instruction in other instruments. Private instructors are available for instruments ranging from horn to percussion to cello.
