Master of Music: Choral Conducting
Students completing this sub plan will:
- conduct with clarity, coordination and expression
- discover and implement the appropriate steps needed for thorough score preparation
- develop a better understanding of gesture and its relationship to vocal efficiency
- develop a broader knowledge of the choral composers and repertoire from the 12th to the 21st century

In addition to materials requested on the on-line application, prospective choral conducting students are required to send a DVD that includes a 25-minute rehearsal featuring a choir they are currently conducting. The DVD should include warm-up exercises at the beginning of the rehearsal and portions of two selections. (Students have the option to also send a video demonstrating their conducting in a choral performance.)
