Phillip Haines has served as a music educator and conductor for almost thirty years. Currently, Mr. Haines is one of the band directors at Mannion Middle School and Foothill High School in Henderson, Nevada, the largest middle school and high school band programs in the state. Prior to this position, Haines was the director of bands at Sierra Vista High School and Las Vegas High School. Haines’ bands have consistently been among the finest in the state throughout his career and have earned numerous awards and honors, both locally and nationally. Mr. Haines is active as a clinician and adjudicator. He has been an invited clinician for the Nevada Music Educators Conference on multiple occasions and has adjudicated marching and concert events throughout the nation. Mr. Haines has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, as conductor of the Las Vegas Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and as a chairman for and a participating member of many committees and organizations in the Nevada music community. Mr. Haines was a student in the Curry Music Camp while in high school and has maintained a relationship with the camp ever since. He has conducted ensembles and his children have also participated in the camp in recent years.
